Caring for the Caregiver – Keeping Your Tank Full While Caring for Others

The workshop is geared towards parents and caregivers who have children with special needs. The workshop will focus on tips and strategies from a parent perspective to give you tools and skills to take care of yourself while taking care of others. We will explore ways to increase self-care, manage emotions and utilize community resources.
Presenter:
Kelly Phillips joined the Family Support Network of Eastern North Carolina in July 2019 as the Executive Director. Since beginning her role as Executive Director, Kelly has worked to expand upon the 30 year legacy of supporting families FSN of ENC has provided, by growing the community based family supports offered through the Parent to Parent Mentoring Program, the Family Connections Program, Educational Workshops and Family Care Bag program for 18 counties in Eastern North Carolina. Kelly actively serves on numerous Local Interagency Community Collaboratives, Pitt County BRACE, Pitt County PIMPAC and other community based organizations. Kelly holds a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and has been working with children and families for 20 years. In her free time Kelly enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and being outdoors.
