Change the Life of a Child and You Change the Future of Our Community

A Message from the Executive Director

Thank you for your help! The Down East Partnership for Children is making a tremendous impact on the children, families and communities in Nash and Edgecombe counties. As we reflect on another year of services and the strides we have made together to improve the lives of young children and make our communities stronger, we must also look to the future and the role we each play in making Nash and Edgecombe counties stronger toward the goal that every child in our region has an opportunity for a bright future.

We know these are tough times economically for our families and friends, our community and for North Carolina. But we believe that it’s critical to keep moving forward and not give up the fight to make sure that the children in Nash and Edgecombe counties continue to receive the support they need to be successful.

If you want to share DEPC’s message and invest your time, talent and resources to ensure that every child is launched as a healthy, lifelong learner by the end of third grade, please review the options below and consider what you can do to help. It takes all of us to make a difference,  large and small contributions and mostly a commitment to work together to make Nash and Edgecombe Counties a great place to raise our children and families as well as a great place to work.

As always, I would like to thank you for your continued support of Down East Partnership for Children and your commitment to our children and families and to our future.

Sincerely,

Henrietta Zalkind

Contribute to DEPC’s Endowment Fund

The Down East Partnership for Children Endowment Fund has been established by the North Carolina Community Foundation (NCCF), a statewide nonprofit that administers endowments for donors, scholarship fund-holders and nonprofits across North Carolina.

“The endowment was put in place to sustain the legacy of the partnership for the next 20 years,” said Tim Wilson, partner with Poyner & Spruill and DEPC board member. “It takes all of us to keep it going. The strength of the partnership is in its diversity – crossing racial and class lines to improve the quality of life for children and families. It’s this same diversity and strength of our community that will help move the partnership forward to the next 20 years.”
