These are just a few resources to encourage reading with your children and learn more about ways to build your child’s library!

A trained Family First Specialist is ready to help. Connect to programs, activities and/or other community resources that you may need or be interested in. The Family First Line can be accessed either by appointment, phone calls or walk-in from 9:00am-5:00pm, Mondays-Fridays.

The Imagination Library is here!

Imagine the fun of receiving a free book for your child in the mail each month, building a library of books and a love for reading. Down East Partnership for Children and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library are working together to get books into the hands of our youngest children. Enrollment is now open!

For more information about how the Imagination Library works here in Nash and Edgecombe Counties, please contact Cynthia Pritchard at or (252) 985-4300, ext. 218.

Positive Parenting Program
Tips and classes

Triple P is a parenting program, but it doesn’t tell you how to be a parent. It’s more like a toolbox of ideas. You choose the strategies you need. You choose the way you want to use them. It’s all about making Triple P work for you.

Down East Partnership for Children provides a variety of resources through Triple P – from one-on-one consultations to workshops and tip sheets.

Visit or contact Sarah Winters at or 252-985-4300.

Playgroups for parents with children birth through age 5

Our Kaleidoscope Playgroup series for Spring 2023 will soon be underway at Down East Partnership in Rocky Mount and at Spaulding Family Resource Center in Spring Hope. Our Spring semester begins the week of February 13. We spend time playing, learning from each other, and discovering ways to help our children continue learning at home. Caregivers who attend 13 out of the 16 meetings, complete a developmental questionnaire for their child, and participate in a Triple P Positive Parenting Program activity will receive a $25 Walmart gift card at the end of the series. Please contact Debra Boudreau at or 985-4300 ext. 270
